Haha ... welcome to the group hanoman. Yah ... Mandai Zoo is one of my favourite haunts whenever I have some decent time to shoot ... like the Jurong Bird Park too but the KFC outlet @ the zoo tipped the balance somewhat ...

Looking forward to this Saturday ... it's been a WHILE since I took a shot on my camera ...

    Anymore?

Special thanks to Richard for tempting the potential ones ... glad you're coming. For the rest who do not know him, he's a more competent shooter as compared to me so he's our gain on this shoot!

I just realised my camera has one silly dust spot. One round black spot keeps appearing on my pictures, used blower but the spot seems to either appear somewhere else or becomes 2 spots...hope it doesnt screw up my shots on Saturday...or maybe I'll just have to shoot slides/film...

    rncw: I've not 1.4x or 2x TC... ....

By the way, what's the fastest way to reach e zoo from Bedok?

Other than taking a cab, you can either take Bus 25 (not sure whether it's faster than taking a train) to AMK MRT Station, then take Bus 138.

yes, you should. 300mm plus a 1.4x TC will be good. i normally packed only the 300mm+1.4TC for zoo shoot...you can also bring a zoom lens (like the 70-200) for shooting animals like raccoon, meerkat, creatures inside the fragile forest..etc. or you can also consider a macro lens.
