The 17-55 is many people's dream lens. Since I can't afford this for now, I got myself the Sigma 18-50 mm f2.8. Good value, great images. |

I'm looking hard for a 2nd hand one below $1000. Age and body condition is low priority for me. |

17-35 is still hard to beat, 17-55 isn't as rich in the details or as sharp as the good old D lens
BTW old school hardcore dudes believe in prime lenses not zoom. I believe zoom has improved much since.Last edited by rayshade; 7th May 2005 at 04:49 PM. |

17-35 shd be better than 17-55 but 17-55 have wider coverage and supposedly more suitable for digital... i think

I also bought the D70s.But I dun want the kit lens since I have many Nikkor lens liao. So I bargained for A SB-600 in place of the kit lens. The price I paid is $1680 for D70s body plus Sb-600, inclusive of GST, paid by Credit card.
For D70s body alone, they are selling at $1380 inclusive of GST. Last edited by elixir; 7th May 2005 at 09:01 PM. |

But nothing can beat the 17-35 for full frame and low distortion. See the comparison and links here. http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/re...ssage=12754092 Last edited by Helbreath; 7th May 2005 at 08:20 PM. |
