Just received my closed up filter set from ebay.

Here's some test with a AF-S 24-120

very sharp.. watch for the shadow on the last pic.. i guess you're using built in flash?

Yeah...built in flash...no $$$ for a SB600 yet..hehe

#1 and #3 dragonfly is nice but BG distracting.

ortega : Thanks, how do u totally remove the backgrounds or blacken it when it's like a few cm away from the dragonfly?

normally I try to use POV, but if that does not work then move the BG away or wait for another shot.

D70 w/ AF-S VR 24-120 f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED

I think the dragonfly is using a +4 closeup filter and the butt is using +4 and +2 stacked.

Maybe becoz the on camera Flash is not fast enough for 1/400 or 1/500

how close were you to the subject? did you zoom in all the way to 120mm?

About 15cm I think. Zoom is around 100 - 120mm
