    Competitive pricing?
Wow ! All drooling ! I think for such a high grade camera it is good price, maybe shipping from Japan need to buy insurance to cover transporting damage as well. If local distributor can cover 2nd year warranty total 1+1 = 2 yr local warranty, that will definitely get sales moving.

I am waiting for something in between K5IIs an 645D, waiting patiently.

Unless you can get Map Cameras to teleport the camera to your home and teleport it back to them whenever you need servicing, then ya, can compare that way.
Just sharing the info in case anyone happens to be in japan or planning to go japan. Not meant to be a technical exercise in price comparison

cost to cost, comparing overseas, don't factor in shipping and gst, Singapore is still cheaper.

Ben, with 75 lens, new body, probably 8 k sing. slightly above. This is good for XMM portraits.

A lot interested but only a few will buy. That's the market for medium format cameras.

Exactly I've been having dreams, nightmares on the 645D since day 1. But never got around the splurging the $ to buy. It's an overkill for a hobbyist like me seriously. Lol.

Where got overkill? It's like saying a bike enthusiast claiming that owning a sports car is overkill for him.

If you ask the camera shops, the sales staff may tell you that the people who buy expensive full frame and/or medium format cameras; are not always professional photographers.

Well heeled hobbyists are the ones who splurge on these toys.
