Default Portable photo storage

Any recommendations on portable photo storage? Just lost the one I had. Was thinking of Archos or Trandscend model. These can view the pictures as well.

I am now using Nikon Coolwalker and Epson P-2000,I will recommand the Epson P-2000 coz the battery can last for 6 download of 2 x 2Gb and 4 x 1 Gb where Nikon canon only last for1 x 2Gb and 2 x 1Gb card.

Also the epson have 3.8" display, can support canon CR2 and CRW format film where Nikon coolwalker can only support nefmTiff and JPG and with a 2" display.dpwnload speed of nikon Coolwalker is abit slower.

NEF files are just data files, it's as good as asking, can PC copy NEF files. They're just copying data simple as that.

The battery life is important, but my more important question is how fast does the device copy? I'm about to let my XDrive II go to change to another device.

I am not sure the P-2000 can display NEF file or not,but a new update driver is available in epson site for the P-2000 should solve this problem.

The P-2000 use pre install rechargable batter inside hte unit which cannot be change by user where coolwalker can,but the batter of coolwalk quite expensive, about RM 200. per pcs.

going by these figures, arent we all better off getting 8x1gb CF? this would cost about 800-900. same price as these portables except for the lack of preview of course..

Another product to look at is the Vosonic VP6120

http://www.vosonic.com/index.php?php...&php_itemid=26

It is available at most shop at Sim Lim Square. IIRC the price is S$439 without the 2.5" HDD.

I think that the Epson P2000 will be priced around the S$900-1000 range as the RRP in Australia is A$899.

Someone mentioned that it will be available here in Singapore on 20 May 2005. Maybe they will wait to showcase the P2000 at the PC Show 2005 which will be held at the Singapore Expo on 02-05 June.

I hope that the Nikon Singapore Pavilion will show the D50 at the PC show.

HTH.

They brought in one truck of Epson P2000.
