And please don't get "C" involved in this thread (whoever your "C" may be). Not nice.

ZC, your new avatar doesn't do any justice to your nice looking CS idol look... maybe you can try taking a better pic...

btw anybody wanna be manager for ZC? maybe petf69 wanna be papasan? sure profitable... cos his i find that in all the avatars, he look very different, think he very photogenic...

I was just trying to post a new avatar lah. Always have problem on the quality one, unlike most of you guys, can see so clearly on the picture. I just took this one last night and try to reduce the size using Image Ready... Sigh... Guess I failed.

like i say, dun do a crop to size... u should use percentage downsize... bit by bit...

By the way, guys, how you people manage to get such a clear picture on your avatar one har? The limitation is 15 KB or less, or 100 x 100 pixel in size, whichever is smaller...

Here is what I did. Let me know if I have done wrong in any of the steps:

    1. Take my own picture using Basic (Small).
    2. Transfer the picture into my computer.
    3. Load the picture onto Image Ready.
    4. Optimize the picture using Auto Levels and Auto Colour in Image Ready.
    5. Reduce the picture to the required size by resizing in Image Ready (by %)
    6. Save Optimized picture as JPEG.
    7. Load the new picture onto ClubSnap as avatar.

And the result is what I have now... Sigh... Look at that Kitty avatar! So nice!

u reduce like for eg... to 5% direct rite... normally u do reduce by 10% down or cut 1/2 method... so the pixels still proportional...

anyway i find the best 'cropping tool' when u dun need to edit the pic is via the windows built in PAINT software. the crop is good... file size can be small as well...

i find that sometimes adobe software when u save, the pics become bigger, due to compression perhaps...

oh ya, when u take a pic, u normally shouldn't go do auto levels and such, since u take a pic u should already trust your camera instead of everytime go thru the photoshop process.

try taking ur picture with super fine setting (large file), then resize it to 100 pixel size, reducing color depth if necessary to reduce file size. u need to sharpen the pic after resizing.
