Default To all Minolta fans

Minolta X-700 SLR....Just fantastic!! This is the camera that set Minolta stands out from the rest, in the past, current and future. Period.

Agree?

Hi,

Not too sure, but I'm sure Minolta has a great history... now forming a bright future...

There's a model which an astronaut used it on the moon and now is in one of the U.S. museum (if I remember correctly...if not, some kind souls out there pls. correct me ) That was donkey yrs ago...

Minolta's Manual SLR is still hot like a pancake in eBay Bidding... amazing but true...

Btw, what triggers you to bring up this topinc...suddenly? just curious...

Cheers...

Default Konica Minolta History.........

On Feb 20th, 1962, John Glenn became the first American to orbit the earth. On board his Friendship 7 spacecraft was a MINOLTA HI-MATIC camera to record that historic event. The 4 hour, 55min 23 sec flight orbited the earth three times at an average speed of 28,000 kph.

The camera is now on display at Smithsonian Institution's National Air and Space Museum in Washhiongton D.C.

I happen to found tis on my manual book...

Default x700

actually cheap to own.
I have 3 or 4.
in this digital craze, people junk their film cams.

I do not need so many X700, obviously.
but when it is almost at a throw-away price and you think that the jug of beer (that you order soon in the pub later when you meet your friends ) cost more than the camera, you will buy it.

but cheap in this case does not mean lousy.
cheap in this case means people do not know enough to appreciate.

but lucky for us got such unappreciative X700 owners.

the appropriate Chinese saying is "a flower placed on a puddle of cow-dung".

hehehe... exactly right... got my X-700 and the Auto Winder D with 50mm f1.4 lens.. its a solid camera... Seriously, I enjoy taking photos with this outfit.

Default Price for X370

Hi, I saw a X-370 with 35-70mm Zoom kinda interested to try it out. Assuming it's in working condition how much can I pay for it. What are the things should I check when I inspect the camera beside

1. Fungus / scratches in lens
2. zoom / focus / aperture rings
3. shutter click

Does this camera have in-built meter, how to check if the metering still works ?

I also saw a Oly OM-1 + standard zoom, is this better choice ?

The last mechanical SLR I used was Canon AE-1 + 50mm F1.8 (> 10 yrs ), the best camera I've ever had.

thanks

I totally concur. The X-700 is a mighty fine camera. Wasn't named 1982 EISA Camera of the Year for nothing!
