It uses the same panel as the Apple 20" (LG Philips). Now this is even more tempting.

Dell 2001FP is S$1300, if 2005FP is sold here, it'll probably cost more unfortunately... unless Dell views Apple as a competitor and cuts prices to better Apple.

dun bother, after 8.25% sales tax, US$150 shipping (or more) and 5% GST on the total amount, the price will be the same as apple new price

and somemore no warranty....u will cry if your set got dead pixel

FYI, Dell HK is selling at HK$4599, about S$1k...but after u add shipping and GST, the price will be the same as apple

I like the cool aluminium frame on the apple

Wai - thanks for the clarifications. Some of the HWZers have managed to get their panels in from eBay sellers below S$1000 with shipping, excluding GST.

But warranty issues wise, it's another grey area. Some said that is it possible for transferring of warranty to Dell SG, some said otherwise... But $1.3k (education price) is still way out of my budget..

Sign, I guess this will have to do while I wait for images to be beamed straight to my head. Sony aims to beam sights, sounds into brain

Silly question, but can the display be rotated to portrait format?

    Thanks.

    Nope. The Dell can though.

That's why I am looking more towards the Dell instead of the Apple(pardon my bias-ness).

    Doesn't the 30" ACD need dual-DVI inputs? So 3 x 30" needs at least 2 Parhelia's? Heehee...
