Sigh, KM only win 1 award for the new Scan Elite 5400 II film scanner. 7D no where in sight. Lens also no new breakthrough. Sigh again.

Extremely wrong in my opinion; the Fuji S3, a mediocre performer at best? I guess they couldn't award another "just 6Mp" camera, especially since they have awarded the AS system already. Still, more politics than anything, methinks.

well, i guess such award does influence the buying decision of new comers. but that again, new comers know TIPA or EISA (I hope the abbreviation is correct)?

maybe sway the weak minded ones... especially those nikon darkside users... since share the same mount..

but if this lens is like lens of the year, but made my nikon, will u guys change system? no rite... same goes for body lor... maybe like forbytes say, might increase awareness or skew them to buy those prosumer or consumer ranges...

Who cares whether it wins any award... the best part is, the photos taken with it won many prizes + recognition!!!

Given the best and most award winning body+lense, produce non-award winning photos is even more pathetic...

disclaimer: above statement refers to no one but myself... but yet winning any award with my decent photos

yes, consumers who know nothing about photography may not know about cush wards to visit these wesbites, but when minolta/canon/nikon advertise their products again, such awards will be in good use and probably boost their sales.

I believe many of us will agree with this. We, as photographers, are pursuing recognition. Camera and lens manufacturers pursuing sales. Different objectives.

I still love Minolta!

I agree with you about the S3... nothing special and yet I think it's the most expensive DSLR in its class at the moment... it's like $3K on the streets now, body only? Fuji just screwed all their S2Pro users... IMO.
