the entire army was mobilized to comb forests and to do border security, and the navy was engaged to sea patrols.

did you even know how much those doing NS at the time had to suffer for those 6 months?
OK, lah.. not only SPF missed that. The 9/11 also mah US let the bin Laden Family flew out of US beyond their law reinforcements' reach.

Not to let the effort of Mas Selamat Search go without due credit, Coast Guard did stop a launch boat carrying myself and a malay colleague to our company's tanker. They go through many levels of my colleague's ID verification that they only let us on our way almost 2 hrs later.

Malaysian police are good in catching criminals from Singapore but cannot catch their own local criminals.

My Malaysian friend told me if you reported a robbery the police would only turn up after an hour or so for their own "safety".

    Nope, was in Tankers.

According to few captains I chat with, taking bunker in Singapore is the worst in the world. They'd try to get bunker elsewhere unless really have no choice.

Nothing changed. I was with them around the same time the article was printed, and witnessed some arguments when they took bunker here, just like what the article said: About bunker volume...

    Thanks. Sorry for the OT.

    Back to Iskandar.

When asked, Dr Hashim declined to elaborate on how the fugitive was tracked and would say only that they "found him wandering around JB (Johor Baru) Town and we just picked him up".

Could this case somehow be connected to the theft of items from Mr. Tan Boon Sin's safe deposit box at Certis Cisco Centre II (Paya Lebar) last November 2013?

I find it a matter of interest that the murder suspect, former Senior (SNR) Staff Sergeant (SSGT) Iskandar Bin Rahmat would make the effort to constantly update Mr. Tan Boon Sin on the progress of the investigation despite officially having nothing to do with it at all in his authoritative capacity as a law enforcement officer and a member of the Singapore Police Force (SPF).

Not that difficult to connect the dots? Just my hypothesis.

Former Senior (SNR) Staff Sergeant (SSGT) Iskandar Bin Rahmat knew of Mr. Tan Boon Sin's contents in his safe deposit box at Certis Cisco Centre II (Paya Lebar) from Mr. Tan Boon Sin's police case report on the theft of items from it last year.

Desperately in need of some $$$ to settle his outstanding loans and relive himself of financial embarresement, former Senior (SNR) Staff Sergeant (SSGT) Iskandar Bin Rahmat confronted Mr. Tan Boon Sin and forced him to hand over the contents of his safe deposit box either by holding him hostage, threatening him or whatever which was why Mr. Tan Boon Sin was at Certis Cisco Centre II (Paya Lebar) just hours before to withdraw all the items.

Something went horribly wrong (son inexplicably showed up?) and consequently, two person are brutally murdered as a result.
