Good job to all the case officers and investigation officers involved, not easy at all to apprehend an unknown fugitive in such a short period of time despite what the ignorants may think. Hope you all get an "A" (or at least a "B") for your performance grading during the end of year appraisal, with a big performance bonus to go along next March.

Also, plenty of time off for all the overtime put in the during the past few days. You people deserved a rest.

Kovan murders: Suspect is senior staff sergeant policeman from Bedok station

"The suspect in the Kovan murders is a 34-year-old police officer of senior staff sergeant rank from Bedok police station."

Malaysian police arrested a Singapore policeman in Malaysia for a double murder. How intriguing...

And yahoo sg said it was a Caucasian female. Which of course sparked off more anti-ft rants at the other forums

If it is about money, then it should be a huge amount enough to cause one to kill 2 victims.

Personnel in Police Force are human like everyone else. A minority do commit crimes.

Soon after committing the crime and before it is discovered, the perpetrator/s fled to MLY or Thailand - and that is the reason why they are later arrested with the help of MLY or Thai police.

It is not because SG police is lousy.

True. By the time the forensic team has gathered evidence and fingerprints you could be in KL already.

Kovan double murder: Suspects can't hide for long, say experts

"Singapore's small size, tight border controls and advanced police forensics and detection technologies mean any fugitive would find it "near impossible to escape", the experts said."

not many of you realize how much overtime some of these police officers work... so don't just say that it's just only during the past few days that they had to do overtime.

Yeah right. It is amazing that people can still say such things even after Mas Selamat escaped from Singapore.

but you forget... he didn't use the immigration checkpoints.

and while that joke was circulating, the people behind the joke didn't realize that Mas Selamat's family was already investigated. but they hid him very well.

the entire army was mobilized to comb forests and to do border security, and the navy was engaged to sea patrols.

did you even know how much those doing NS at the time had to suffer for those 6 months?

It seems fugitives like to overestimate the Singapore police and underestimate the Johor police. They like to escape to Johor and then get caught there.

You think that the Johor police would investigate a crime in Singapore then proceed to help the SPF nab the guy? Faulty logic there

True. I believe the Singapore police already know where he is but does not have the power to arrest him and so have to ask the Malaysia Police for help.
