Best Consumer Lens: Tamron AF18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 XR Di II LD Aspherical (IF) Macro The Tamron AF18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 XR Di II LD Aspherical (IF) Macro provides the photographer using an APS-sized sensor D-SLR camera with the versatility of a true wide to ultra-tele zoom in an amazingly compact design. The lens features an entirely new optical system using XR (Extra Refractive Index) glass to optimize the optical quality throughout the entire zoom range. This design reduces aberrations to a minimum and makes this lens the ‘Best Lens 2005’ winner. I wonder where this lens would be available locally... |

OK for 3rd party lens. IMO better build than the Sigma ones. Optically acceptable for a super zoom like this. No detail comparision as I don't have my cam now. Price Over $600.

Initially wanted to get this lens after seeing very good review but heldback after seeing some very serious CA (purple Fringle) in some samples and on my friend's 350D. Maybe will wait for KM one to compare...
