proshow gold is a shareware. u have to download from their site, then pay them for the license. or else, ur pics will be watermarked with their company logo. its a very easy to use software, tho. i have it. check out http://www.photodex.com/

if u want something more friendly to the wallet, try go to funan's challenger and look for a locally developed shareware called memories on tv. this is the 'lite' version. for the full version, u have to purchase it online from them. check out http://www.codejam.com/products.htm i found dat this software's format for arranging ur pics is not as simple as proshow. however, the program is relatively user-friendly, and only take 5-10mins to learn how to use it.

Hi Simon

Google's Picasa says it has this feature (extracted from its website):
"Make beautiful slide shows.

With Picasa, you can turn a group of photos into a presentation with one click, then share your slide show on a CD."

It's free but I haven't used this feature. You may want to try it.

You can use Microsoft Photo story. I use that for my wedding slideshow. It plays on Window Media player and you can add sound etc.

I had just posted up a slideshow streamed over the web the day before. Done with ProShow Gold. If you can help me evaluate, will be greatly appreciated. Also to see if this is what you're looking for
