also just on a slightly different tangent? what sort of multimedia content would you as a consumer prefer to see on a news website? soundslides? video? just photo galleries on their own without audio? just curious what others engage with more on a news website

    Would rather read "kopitiam".
Unclefai has been providing a lot of the essential "breaking news". And most of the time it is faster than the printed version. Not to mention that it saves me the time to scan thru all the available news online.
Just read Kopitiam and you hv all the news auto fed to you.
    thkq, Unclefai.

For international sports, most information is available online - with real good commentary. Gossip news (royals, who did what with who, marriages, divorces) not interested.. so its BBC and you tube for those bloopers...

sure, with big, international news stories, i'm sure there would be many good, free sources on the net where you could gather your news. what about local content though?

by the way, how much does a copy of the print editon of the Straits Times cost?

I don't even have enough time to read free news haha.
Usually I use those news filter such as Flipboard to get the best news from multiple sources.

I hardly have anytime myself to read newspapers. In any case most local newspapers are quite trashy, i.e. filled with propaganda. But I still have to subscribe because my parents like to read Zaobao on the tablet. No choice.

I think it's best to have Jap AV clips thrown in if no big news happening.
