Default Stick Insect

Was at Ubin today. Manage to find this stick insect. Appreciate any comments please. Thanks.

Taken with FZ10+Nikon 6T+Sigma close up lens. Ext bounce flash. F8, ISO 50. Hand held

#1: Stick Insect

#2 Shadow

Of all the shots you posted, pic #2 wit the stick insect shadow is the one!

The rest lack "feeling".. hehehe.. Thanks for sharing! Love it always.

Love #1 the leaf and stick insect gave a very striking,vivid contrast

Nice catch! This stick insect seems pretty big to me... I saw one at lower pierce before but it's only 6-8cm.

No 1 is nice but since it is taken at a distance, why not try with smaller F value. Dun think it will affect too much the DOF of the insect but it will blur the background.... i think

You must have steady hands to take those pictures handheld, especially with such shallow depth of field in close-ups. Did you held the camera with your right hand and flash in your left?

The flash is on the hotshoe, and camera is held with 2 hands.
