That will depend on how much it cost also. Have you got any supplier's contacts yet? I checked some sites but all in some foreign language, so i am not sure abt the price yet.

Hi adrian_wee, i've enquired from Minolta Singapore before. The list price of the CD-1000 is $70. They say can order from their showroom or from their authorised dealers. None of the shops here stock this item.

do we really need it, coz most of us using external/add on flash. If we do purchase it, then add extra item (probably few hundred grams) to the bag. Under-utilised. We are "loyal" to KM, but not necessary to own everything. no offence, me now very stingy coz budget constrain. But if you need it, please go ahead and order it.

Wah... so ex... forget it.... I like it cos sometimes I want to travel light.... and compact so forget the external flash... but I noticed that using the built-in flash just kills the batteries in double quick time even though I am using the grip with a total of 3100mAh (1400 + 1700) of juice!

i wonder can use this to trigger the 5600 as slave anot, cos sometimes too near, den wanna have only a strong light source from the 5600 and not from the camera angle...

hi,

thanks for the pricing information. It is indeed quite expensive for such a gadget. But still i feel that for pple who are using a consumer camera, and does not want to buy an external flash, this should be quite useful. So sorrie, i just purchased an external flash recently liao..so think i will give this product a miss. :>

One thing about Minolta accessories (dunno about the other brands) is that their accessories tend to be very expensive. So much so that I don't think it's worth it. $70 for what is essentially a piece of plastic is ridiculous.
