    Not necessarily. A "professional" sharp image requires an expensive lens? You think the main criteria to a "professional" image is sharpness? LOL! This is total and utter rubbish/fallacy that the shopowners try to convince you of.

    In fact, many people buy a 24-70L thinking "wow, L lens, must be pro, my images sure sure swee swee sharp one!" only to realize it's an incredibly soft lens and their kit lens was sharper.

    there's more to a photo other than sharpness.

    composition, timing, lighting, concept, story are just a few of the items that you have to consider.

    TS, you can rent & try the lenses first before you buy. Usually cost about $30-50 per day depending on the lens.

    upgrade skill cheaper and more effective than upgrading gear.

    but of course , one has to admit to herself or himself that skill needs upgrading and not everyone is able to do that

    upgrade gear is more simple and easy, but of course you need to have the dough.

    and it is so easy to be noticeable by others, as long you just show only the set up but not the photos.
