Default uh-oh

hi guys... I just got my 300mm SLR lens today..
I also have the 2100, which is ahem "380"mm right?
turns out the 300mm zooms in more by 1/6th than the 2100 at full tele...
crap...

You forgot the inherent multiplier?

e.g 1.6 for D60 1.5 for S2Pro, 1.7 for SD9.

Ignore if you are using SLR.

Where did you focus? If your 2100 lens is using IF, it will lose focal length when focused near. It will have its marked focal length when focused at infinity (well, give or take 10% -- usually give ).

both infinity... this hdb block with a diagonal hole... the hole is about 1/3 to 1/4 for the oly and 1/3+ for the eos50... almost one floor is missing from the eos50.. and no ha no my viewfinder doesn't crop *that* much...
anyway it's not important for me now... obviously...
2100uz + CPL + CB4 + 64 megs for sale? haha nah think this one easier to travel with...

haha I am SO boliao...
ok I used the staircase landing to gauge.
cos the landing is per floor half window half wall from the outside.
I use horizontal view to dismiss the 2:3 vs 3:4 comparison.
so oly at 380mm can fit 6 pairs just nice,
the SLR can fit 5 1/2, less one window.
my eos50 has 90%+ VF crop meaning actually I can shoot more than I see.
so EVEN if both are the same number of windows, one is 380 one is 300...

SO if the oly is 30-300, it shd see more at full wide than my 35mm (photdo rate as 34)... but it doesn't even allowing for focusing..

weird hor...
of cos this trial is conducted rule of thumb and not ISO14000...

haha can anyone provide more evidence? sekali my oly old liao needs viagra...

Default 300mm vs 380mm

Wait a minute, if you can see only 5.5 pairs,
doesn't it mean that Oly gives you higher magnification? Am I missing a point somewhere?

haha yeah typo ... hehehe
was thinking 300 and 380 shd have drastic difference like > 1 pair... the block is bout 300+m away only... but instead the other way around...
quick someone give the lecture on FOV and how to calculate it!
