Yello all...
Can you share your shooting preference.. and some reasons why... maybe can inspired newbie like me... I know some it's not applicable for prosumer. But it is still nice to share. example: Expos.Mode: M -> because i'm studying this one, but sometimes NG File: JPEG Extra fine -> becoz always forgot to check the diff with the fine Focusing:AF, the 11 spot or something. becoz it help me to compose. and also becoz my EVF not to helpful in MF. WB: Auto, becoz too lazy to setup manually and always forgot to change back after use. Saturation Contrast : Havent study to use different settings. etc.. Filter : Skylight (becoz my UV is 49 and at WA sometimes got vignetting.) I like polarizer during the day actually. And currently still trying to make good use of the cross filter. what else... |

I don't stick to one setting... it changes all the time depending on what you want. I tend to use shutter priority most of the time with spot metering. resolution normally set to max.. Never use any of the "digital setting" on camera. on my Dynax 7D, i turn the sharpness to -1 and sharpen using Photoshop CS. AWB don't always work, depending how crucial is your picture, I normally calibrate the WB manually. Other than that... all different everytime.. hart |

i normally shoot raw, unless wan to take alot with a single 2gb...
digital settings +1 to sharpness, +1 to saturation. depends on the subject and location. will use M mode with a light meter. otherwise is mostly A mode, seldom touch S, i mean shutter priority ![]()

don't know how this gonna help you.
day time/ bright sunlight - Aperture priority (so i can control DOF) indoor (low light)/ night - Shutter priority (so i can control speed at 1/125 and above, not to get motion blur) As for Manual, very seldom unless I get consistant lighting & doesn't zoom much. Sharpness +1 Saturation or Contrast +1 (seldom both, or else details gone, eg: bird feathers) Filters: Skylight 1B for everything except landscaping if i want blue blue sky. For me,
- Contrast = 0 - Sharpness = 0 - WB = Auto - Format = JPEG - Resolution = Extra Fine - Colour = sRGB - Filter = Hoya HMC Multicoated My 100mm Macro lense gives me very pleasing clearity and sharpness, hence, stick firm to 0 for sharpness setting and no touch up on all the photos taken. AWB sometimes do give inaccurate out come, especially indoor. |
