How close did you have to bring the lens to the subject? I tried using a 50mm reversed mount on 70-300mm lens and had bring the setup within 3 cm or so of the subject. The magnification was fantastic but too much. What wd you say I am doing wrong? All the time, I was afraid of my 50mm lens coming off because of the shallow threads. I don't think I would dare to include my closeup filter in the setup. Last edited by AncientMariner; 20th April 2005 at 10:57 PM. |

The 6T is about 29cm, The sigma is 39cm, and both stacked is 19cm. For the reverse lens it was about 4cm working distance. I understand what you mean on the high magnification....I find that a problem too when I use x12. But at x6 to x8, it seems more manageable and I get more ok shots than before....so I guess for your 70-300mm lens, you may want to consider not to zoom all the way. Also, use MF and move the camera in and out to get focus. I have a reverse macro ring and it fits well on my phayee adapter, and as I mentioned I don't use reverse lens and CU together..... Hope the info helps!
