Really holy cow!

Come to think of it, better this way...single brand, single set of super duper software.

Shocking indeed! But I am glad....I am looking for greater intergration between the products of two brands I happen to trust much more than Bill's creations.

I'd bet they'll add a lot more stuff into the new bundle that you'll need to upgrade to use it...

Example is ACDsee. A lot of features, but no one uses more than 50% of them. And it slows down your comp till U can go take a coffeebreak.

Thats a shocking news...
and that sounds like a good news for adobe supporters like me also.

That will be great to see the teams merged to produce better products. But the point is that some of the redundent softwares have to say Goodbye already. And its interesting which one will stay...

Photoshop - will definitely stay
Flash - will most likely stay
Illustrator vs Freehand? (I guess Freehand has to go)
GoLive - Dreamweaver? (Thats the interesting part...)
and what else?

Nothing beats Dreamweaver.

Moreover, Adobe has the moral responsibility to retain the Macromedia line of products in my opinion.

Think of the commercial servers that are running Macromedia Breeze, Flex and Contribute. There must be some clause in the buy-over agreement that states that Adobe will continue to market and support some of those Macromedia products, especially Breeze, etc.... Why? hehehe..... because some MOE schools already started using Breeze....

You will see a lot of softwares in common from now. I will rather buy them from my beloved uncle or tatooed brother at the friendly neighborhood stores.
