Default EXIF colourspace and Photoshop

Hi,

I notice when I opened up my files in Photoshop 7 and check the under File Info, the EXIF line says "uncalibrated" even though I chose Adobe 1998 on my 7D.... I'm a complete newbie to this kind of thing... what's going on?

I checked under "Image" and find that under "Assign Profile" the program reports that I am using Adobe1998 (KM, Inc).... I also notice that above it there is a line that says "Working Prifle" and that says Adobe1998... which is what I selected to work in in Photoshop....

Anyone can explain the mysteries of colourspace to me? Thanks! I shall be reading Luminous Landscape in the mean time....

Thank you again!
