Default Tamron Lens (70-300mm) good?

Interested in getting the Tamron 70-300mm lens (572D) with 1:2 macro... but dunno how it compares to say Canon EF 75-300mm?

Anyone used Tamron lenses, care to share your experiences? Thanks!

Checked out the reviews, and also checked out CP, Photoguide, John 3:16... all an immediate "we don't carry this lens". Hmm...

Anyway, I settled for a Sigma 70-300mm APO lens. Hope the shots I have taken today prove good at the 300mm end.
