Against Arsenal on Wednesday, DM may deploy a very defensive lineup. After the loss to Chelsea, Arsenal will make amends and try to score big at home. If we play defensive, we will be doomed. We need to score and win the game too. By beating Arsenal at Emirates, gained 3 points so as to keep pace with Europa eligibility. Let's see what DM strategy and tactic going to adopt.

Mourinho only good for 1 to 2 seasons the most. He needs lots of players around to choose around. Doubt he can manage better than SAF or Moyes.

By this ratio, MU need to cross 160 times in this game to get 4 goals

So DM new tactic is pump and dump? The moment it kicks start...just pump the ball into Gunner's D box....if lucky...we can get an own goal....if not after 160 crosses. ..we can get 4 goal....given we need to pump a ball every 30secs....gunner will have no chance to touch the ball...possesion could be 90%....the other 10% if for gunner's goal keeper to pick the ball.....lol...

    David Moyes: United still dangerous
    February 11, 2014

    http://espnfc.com/news/story/_/id/17...gerous?cc=4716

David Moyes has insisted that Manchester United are still a “top side” despite their slump this season.

(Yes.. Man U is a still a Top Side, without a Top Side Manager)

United have won just three of their nine games in all competitions in 2014 and are only seventh in the Premier League -- 15 points behind leaders Chelsea and with 21 fewer points than they had at this stage last term.

The Red Devils travel to Arsenal on Wednesday and Moyes is confident that his side can bounce back following their disappointing 2-2 draw with Fulham on Sunday.

He said: “We are a top side and we'll do everything we can to get all the points.”

Robin van Persie scored the winner as United beat Arsenal 1-0 at Old Trafford in November.

But despite it being their only league win against a team currently in the top nine, Moyes believes they can secure a repeat result at Emirates Stadium.

He said: “We got a good result against them at Old Trafford and we'll try for the same again. We’ve played better in several games but in that one we got the goal and sometimes that makes a difference.”

On the draw against Fulham, which saw United produce 81 crosses, Moyes added: “We played well and in any other game you would have scored many goals. We didn’t get it on the day. Everybody keeps telling me about the stats and the opportunities we had so we had plenty of chances to win the game.

“We’re doing the right things, we need to keep going and our luck will change, there’s no doubt about that.”

Moyes confirmed United will go on a warm-weather break after the Arsenal game and that, contrary to reports, Rio Ferdinand will be in the squad that travels abroad.

“I can only tell you that what was written was a load of rubbish, complete nonsense,” he said. “We’ll have a few days away. We have a big Champions League game [against Olympiakos] coming up in just over a week's time.”

Wenger quiet on Van Persie rumours
    February 11, 2014

    http://espnfc.com/news/story/_/id/17...-clash?cc=4716

Arsene Wenger would not be drawn on the possibility of Robin van Persie making a return to Arsenal, ahead of his side’s clash with Manchester United at Emirates Stadium.

Media reports suggesting Van Persie is unsettled at United have sparked speculation that the Netherlands striker could make what would be a remarkable return to the club he left in the summer of 2012.

When asked about the rumours at his prematch news conference on Tuesday, Wenger said: “I don’t think that’s an ideal subject for us to treat today. I think it is best we don’t talk about that at the moment.

“Robin van Persie is a great player. We know that. It doesn’t mean he has to score [against Arsenal on Wednesday]. It depends how we defend against him.”

Van Persie had won the Premier League in his debut campaign at Old Trafford but has found life tougher since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement.

Ferguson’s successor, David Moyes, has come under fire, with United currently nine points behind fourth-placed Liverpool in the Premier League, but Wenger has insisted the former Everton boss is the right man to take the club forwards.

“You need time and patience,” he said. “You need to be in a strong club and I think he will be given time to do it. When a person has been at a club for such a long time, there is always a void is created when he goes. I believe that Moyes, if given time, will do that perfectly. They continue the same style of play.

“We consider them as a strong side and a team that has quality. Their season is difficult to judge. We consider we play against a good team and we want to beat them.”

Arsenal will be looking for a response to the shock 5-1 defeat to Liverpool on Saturday when they host United, but Wenger maintains his squad has the necessary strength to cope with a testing run of fixtures that will see them face Liverpool again in the FA Cup at the weekend before hosting European champions Bayern Munich in the Champions League next week.

“I don’t believe that on Saturday the players we missed in the transfer market would have saved us,” he said. “We would not have bought defenders. What we have to consider is how well we have done until now. We are in a fantastic position with this group of players, so let’s just come back to our normal level.”

Wenger reported no fresh injuries worries ahead of the match with United, but Thomas Vermaelen and Aaron Ramsey both remain unavailable.

Just think that Anderson is right..... many are fleeing away from Man U......

Another of Anderson's friend who is dying to get out of Man U?? Sad to see this last SAF team breaking up... Just do not think DM will be able to assemble a capable team... Maybe he can assemble a capable team... but I doubt he have the "Mental Strength" to handle Man U...

    Javier Hernandez frustrated by situation
    February 11, 2014

    http://espnfc.com/news/story/_/id/17...uation?cc=4716

Mexico coach Miguel Herrera has said that Javier Hernandez is frustrated at Manchester United because David Moyes has not given him enough starting opportunities.

Hernandez, 25, has struck seven times this season but has only began 10 games, while Moyes has only picked him in his first XI in the Premier League four times.

And with the United manager preferring Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney and Danny Welbeck in attack, Herrera insists the Mexico international is starting to get irritated by the situation.

He told Raza Deportiva: "He seemed well but he is a bit frustrated because he doesn't play, despite training well. And the truth is that when he does play, he makes a huge effort on the pitch.

"He is a bit frustrated because the current manager doesn't give him many chances, but he is committed and doing what he can to become a starter."

Hernandez, who was a substitute in United’s 2-2 draw with Fulham on Sunday, provoked speculation about his future after the game with a cryptic post on Instagram.

He wrote: "The time to speak about so many things will come…"

However, Hernandez later added another post suggesting that he had meant no harm to United first time around, writing: "Always grateful."

In January, the striker's agent and father, Eduardo, told ESPN Deportes that Hernandez is wanted by six clubs in Spain, Italy, France and Germany, including "one of the top 10 teams in the world."

    Moyes: Job requires patience

    http://www.sportinglife.com/football...uires-patience

    Last Updated: February 11 2014, 23:49 GMT

David Moyes believes he was awarded a six-year contract to replace Sir Alex Ferguson as Manchester United manager because the club's hierarchy realised what a big job it was.

After a shaky start to Moyes' tenure, United have staggered through the early weeks of 2014, suffering five defeats already, before failing to beat bottom club Fulham at Old Trafford on Sunday.

It represents as poor a campaign as United have endured since the early years of Ferguson's reign, and they face a stiff test at Arsenal on Wednesday evening.

There has been general approval of former captain Roy Keane's assessment that up to half a dozen experienced players are required to rebuild United to their former strength, and it appears getting the club back on track is going to take time.

"I was given a six-year contract," said Moyes.

"Things were always going to take time. There has been rebuilding going on here year after year and we'll continue to do that."

There has been plenty of backing from the club's hierarchy, even though executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward is likely to be quizzed about this season's poor performances - and the impact failing to qualify for the Champions League would have on finances - when he speaks about United's second-quarter results on Wednesday.

This has not come as a shock to Moyes though.

"The support has been fantastic," he said.

"The right clubs pick the right managers and the right managers pick the right club.

"I always hoped Manchester United would come looking for me and they did in the end. The support doesn't surprise me."

Nevertheless, having already spent over £60million on Marouane Fellaini and new club record signing Juan Mata, the Glazer family will have to splash out much more according to Keane.

For the Irishman agrees with many who feel Ferguson's managerial ability allowed United's controversial owners to get away with investing far less on the first-team squad than was actually required.

Keane told itv.com: "They've kind of cut corners in terms of transfers in the last few years, they've not gone out and got the big players, and it's just caught up with them this year.

"Manchester United need five or six players.

"If it happens in the summer then instead of being fearful of it, embrace it - it's exciting.

"These can be exciting times for Man United. Get them back to the very top where they belong."

One man unlikely to be retained is Rio Ferdinand.

The 35-year-old's contract expires in the summer, and after making one appearance in two months there seems little likelihood of a further extension being offered.

He remains a United player for now though, which means he will be leaving for Dubai after Wednesday evening's encounter at the Emirates Stadium despite reports to the contrary.

"What was written was a load of rubbish," said Moyes. "Complete nonsense."
