Default First Birding..Comments pls...

Did this shot when i was half awake. Woke up, first thing i did was to take my camera, lens and bam! went out to my field to shoot them.. didnt even bring the tripod.....

didnt even brush teeth... juz rushed out...

My first birding.. so erm.. gimme some comments so i can improve ~

Its an egret...

Glenn,
Pic 1 and 2, the foreground light patch and the whitish background kinda distracting. Compose the bird off centre for a more 'soothing' effect. Dead centre shots tend to be bit stiff. in general the pics are tinted with a blueish hue and the subject is soft...just my opinion, hope you dont mine...

yah... first time.. still learning.. point taken.. i have some new pics up.. later i post them up again.. i guess its much better then this batch.. coz this morning.. pratically no setting... half awake la tats why...

It's a Cattle Egret, Bubulcus ibis, and it's in season.

Lighting is not bad, exposure is off... sorry to say this..

You can start with Jurong Bird Park... sure to get some results. Just a note, flash photography is not allowed in some enclosures. Outdoor is great where creatures roam freely, but much patience and luck is needed. You can try the northern wetlands - Sugei Buloh, Kranji Dam, Seletar. Timing is imporatnt, avoid mid day.

JBP.. ok.. will try it first.. followed by sugei buloh.. that one maybe i will go this friday morning... see how first... lol.... thanks ironargon..

me still drooling over the 500 f/4.5 and the 800 f/5.6... dunno hw these lens perform... hmmz.. any owners here ?

JBP is a must, don't need a BIGMA to get good pictures. Maybe a monopod and a flash. But as mentioned by ironargon, it is not allowed in some areas.
