Just dropped my new camera from the table last night

ouch that should hurt you should try taking some photos in all modes and see if there are any problems...if still worried bring it down to fuji service centre for a checkup at a cost...hope all is fine mate

S5500 is not that heavy so higher chance nothing bent or broken inside. Good luck! Circuits are a hardy bunch and normally tested for impact. So your only concern is the plastics and glasses.

Hi,

If it looks ok on the outside ... no visable knock:-

Try a number of shots in different modes in different angles (including upside down etc).
If you cant fault your results .... yeah no problem

If a bit later on it shows a problem, take it in for repair.

If it ain't broke don't fix it (especially don't pay to have "nothing" done).

cheers

of coz, i would say if you have the dough, get one with image stabilization.

I'm happy with my S5500 though as it fits my budget. Just got it on Friday @ 480.
However, the captured avi file even at 320 seems huge in file size.
Full 256mb can only record 7m @ low res video.

Any advise anyone?
p.s. sorry to hijack this thread. but it's a discussion on S5500 anyway.

Default S5500

Hi all,

I am a Canon DSLR user but have been very keen in Fuji S5500. Firstly I have been looking for a SLR like looking camera with medium pricing and this just fit into that my critera.

S5500 users any commemts? The S5500 have spot metering to choose from is it?

I am currently looking for a second hand S5500. Any user wanna can sell PM me.

Advises are welcome. Thanks.

I am also interested in a new S5500. How is it so far? Was the quality of the video captures good with sound?

And mind telling me where you bought it?
