can try to use rfPIC12F675 demo board from Microchip on this too. Have 2 with me now. But too bad I am using D100, not sure whether the pulses are the same.

Get a palmpilot with the remote control software. Borrow someone's D70 infrared remote control. Get the PalmPilot remote control software to learn the IR frequency of the D70 Infra-Remote control. Then viola! Remote trigger your D70 from the palmpilot.
