Default what do u mean by reverse ur 50mm 1.8 to take micro shots?

what do u mean by that. is it that u detach ur lens and invert it?? meaning that the front of the lens pointing the ccd and the rear side of the lens pointing out when the cam is in on mode??

or do u need what you call "additional rings" (just like a teleconverter) to attach to ur cam?

Yes, the front elements will be pointing to the CCD. If u r using a SLR/DSLR, u need a BR2A so that you can screw the lens filter thread onto. The DBR2A will then be mounted onto the cam like the normal manner you mount the lens.

Becareful not to scrarch the rear element. If you want, u can buy a BR3 to allow a filter to be mounted to protect the rear element.

Hope this info helps

Actually if you are good with some hand saw you can make your own reversed ring from a rigid boday cap, a tad of epoxy glue and an unused uv 52mm. filter like this...

or a pinhole camera like this...
