Default Quality of CF Cards

hello everyone,

was looking ard for a 1gig CF card at sls and i noticed that Kingston and Sandisk are the most common ones available.

My own experience is that sandisk is a more reliable brand, as i used to have a kingston card which was damaged like a week after i had it.

so i was wondering what do you guys think? which brand would u recommend? i dun think i need a really high speed one. and also i noticed the prices of the two brands differ quite alot. for a 1gig Kingston CF High speed card, it can cost the same as a normal 1gig Sandisk CF.

my budget would ard $120.

appreciate your valuable opinons here!

cheers,
maximillian

Please explain how your Kingston CF card can be damaged, when CF cards are flash memory devices (soild state electronic)? There's no mechanical parts or whatsoever for it to be damaged?

Anyway, I'll go for Lexar and Kingston because I personally have good experience with these brands. Scandisk is good too.

actually wat type of cam u using? If u just using a normal P&S, just get a norm speed card will do liao...since it will nt be able to utilise the full speed of the card....

but if u using the newer DSLR, might wan to consider the higher speed card...right now eastgear selling the lexar pro 80x 1G at $149 onli......

reliable brands are like kingston, sandisk and lexar.... u might wan to consider lexar and kingston coz the tech support in spore not bad....their distributor is in SLS, called convergent....alot of ppl here manage to change their spoiled card without much of a hussle actually....
