Yup. Flash them using SB-600, Aperture Priority F10.

Pls don't use flash in the World of Darkness (owl) exhibit. Although i think the birds would have gotten used to the flash by now, it nonetheless disturbs the birds.

Oops... Sorry...
But if don't flash, how to take their pictures? It's very dark inside you know? |

i'm sorry to be harsh but if you can't take their picture without flash then too bad. Sometimes it's more meaningful to just look with the eyes and not intrude. think about it. Last edited by foxtwo; 10th April 2005 at 02:53 PM. |

Yes, I used direct flash on the birds. I was standing quite far and I am using my 70mm - 300mm most of the time when taking close ups on the birds. So I used direct flash.
Is there a way to improve the flash? Do you think that by lowering the EV on the flash will help? Please advise. Last edited by Zeckson Chow; 10th April 2005 at 11:08 PM. |

use high ISO, monopod, tripod, faster lens, IS/VR lens ......... and slower speed.......
Any way, those birds most of time have not much movement than wild birds, so you can take your time to shoot. BTW, you have some good shorts, keep it up ... |
