Guys, just wanna ask you some questions about the 2 mentioned above. When using them together, I noticed that my SB-600 can only synchronize shutter speeds at 1/60. Is there anyway to synchronize SB-600 to flash at a faster speed on my D70?
I tried taking shots but some of my pictures are blurred due to motion. |

At what mode are you using ? Auto ? (Dial position)
I think you can only change the flash sync in the M,A,S,P position. Can anyone correct me if I am wrong ? Last edited by mega32; 10th April 2005 at 02:10 AM. |

Unfortunately when I looked at the manual, it's all in traditional chinese. I don't understand it. How can I obtain an English version of the manual?
I normally want sharp images from my pictures so I always use Aperture Priority mode and set the aperture to F10 (and sometimes even smaller, depending on lighting conditions). I tried switching to Shutter Priority mode and shot the picture. Somehow the display on SB-600 always show syncrhonization speed at 1/60. |

F10, and possibly lower isos like 200, 320? Possibly indoor pics too? Too dark then of course your cam would want to shoot slower at 1/60. I think that camera menu shutter speed setting is just for the lowest speed you limit your shutter to be, not a sync. Your conditions can't be too bright, else 1/60 would mean overexposure, which the metering wouldn't allow usually other than if you are in Manual.
Just understand the basics of cam metering + flash usage and balancing them better, don't think it's a menu/user manual thingy from what i read here. ![]() PS, the sync is due to the cam body, not flash. You do not set the sync speed, you set the shutter speed. |

Just one little piece of advice - go attend a basic course to have a basic understanding of all these stuff and then, learn the finer points as you go along. I guess that would be somewhat faster.

If u want to go 1/500, use the M or S mode. I normally use M mode with max sync speed when using with SB800. So far, pics turn out ok. Hope this helps. ![]() |
