Default BP-511 & BP-511A

Are they the same ?

Canon 20D is using the BP-511A can i use the BP-511 with it ?

yes. the difference is that BP-511A will last longer due to the higher capacity.

charger can use the canon charger with 3rd party batteries ?

shouldn't be a problem, i am currently using EASTGEAR batteries with the Canon charger for a few months now.

there're some changes to the Canon charger (with the 20D vs the 300D's) even though the model number remains the same. The 20D charger can't charge the older 7.2V Eastgear batteries.

not sure about the 300D charger but i'm using my 20D charger wth Eastgear EGBP511A batteries and so far so good.

meant the older 7.2V Eastgear BP511 batteries. The later batches of Eastgear BP511 (and BP511A now) are 7.4V and charge fine.
