Default 350D pre-flash can be off?

Just to confirm. Any 350D user out there has disable the internal flash's pre-flash before? Cause I'm thinking of buying but I got slave flashes that doesn't support pre-flash. Anyone? Turn off Red-eye reduction in M mode can?

The AF assist lamp on the 420ex is very useful for night shots when lighting get too low and the cam hunts around to focus. Works on all 7 AF points.

U can get a good used one at ~200-250 now.

So turning off ETTL will means M mode for the built-in flash? If turned off the pre-flash won't fire huh.

But just turn off the ETTL the flash will only fire once? Need to turn off red eye reduction? Haai....too bad my cheap slaves cannot detect pre-flash.

Pre-flash cannot be switched off as E-TTL cannot be switched off.... just buy a small, cheap shoe-mounted flash if you are intending to use it as a slave trigger.
