a canon newbie question

after i load my flim and took some picture when i switch my cam to (L) mode i find that why does the display is still on and display the flim counter ? is this normal and is there any way to turn the display off to save battery?

I think the frame number is always displayed as long as there are batteries.

i see ... wonder if can turn it off ... dont feel good with the thing keep showing there

the lcd won't use up much batt

Just take out the battery if never use for a period...btw which cam u are using?
