of all the free software, I still like and swear by irfanview.

That is about the next best thing to DPP, Nikon View, PS and what other have you cam software that comes with your cam.

oh yeah, iView media doesn't monitor folders. only the pro version (US$100+) can do that.

gotta use the separate "Hello" program with picasa for that, the bot doesnt seem to respond sometimes.. haiz, why cant they juz integrate that into picasa itself. imo, Hello seems like its gonna be the next IM coming from google

anyways, considering features and cost, no evil using Picasa its great as a lifestyle prog, but wont replace PS. Pic sorting juz got easier.

hey, I love Picasa2. it's an amazing program. fast and easy to use.
it replaces my current image viewer - ACDSee.
    love the mac'ish look
it also complements photoshop when you want to do something quick.

Picasa2 can do "Auto Color" <-- how is this done manually using Photoshop?

    Any experts to share?

    found an app called gBrowser
Although it hasn't been updated since 2002, it lets me view thumbnails and close-ups of all my pictures without having to arrange them in albums like what iPhoto does. Good for people who organise your photos by yourself in folders. The slideshow function causes it to crash on my mac, however.

Been using it for the last 2 months. Love the way it organsied itself and self update when there are new images in the folder. Best of all is the free 1gb web album where you can hotlink out the images for posting in forum

I have used picasa. it's good for a few months then the database get's really confusing. It once replicated 2 entries of all my picutres and refused to removed it from the library.
It's proprietry file managment system is unfriendly or friendly when it gets it correct. If it doesn't you can't do anything about it. damm it. Back to ACDsee.

I like it's ability to make picture-grids and collages.

    It makes it so easy!
It is the camera, not the photographer.

I have loaded Picasa long ago and removed it after a few days.
