Default Accessory Flash Shoe of D70

Hi. Could someone please advise if the alignment of the Accessory Shoe of the D70 (DSLR) is the same as other Nikon SLRs.

I am using a third party Nikon dedicated flash. While my flash will sit in nicely on my Nikon SLR, I have to align the flash a little bit out of position on my D70. If I push the flash all the way in, it doesn't trigger on my D70. Do you also face this problem?
