Just saw the Kingston 2GB Elite Pro CF selling for around $270.
Has anyone used it before? Any feedback? Reliable? Good cheap alternative?I've got a complement of 1GB CFs (Extremes & Lexar WAs), but don't mind more cheap storage as RAW files are gobbling up my storage like 'siao'. |

I am using one. Got it for $235 at SLS. Speed wise cannot compare to my Lexars and Sandisk Ultra IIs but if you are looking for cheap storage and relatively good performance, this is good enough.

Thanks for comment, Newbie123.
No lah, not looking for speed. Just wanna check this forum to see if anyone has horror story (e.g. 1 week later cannot write/read, thing self-combust in camera ).Anybody else has good/bad feedback? |

it has good performance so far on my 300D. Slightly slower than Lexar though. Grab it if you need high capacity and speed is not that essential.

I have the 1GB version and it's working very well for me, even after shooting with my camera under the hot sun for almost a year now.

I also having the 1GB version.
Fast on my 300D taking 6MP JPEG format... S$20-30 less than the Lexars 80x. Got $$ go for Lexars 80x...

http://www.eastgear.com/shop/product_info.php?cPath=19_20&products_id=339 I have both the Lexar 2GB (loaded on my Oly C-5050Z) and Kingston 2GB CF card (loaded on my Oly C-7070WZ). So far am satisifed with the both performance. I don't seem to see any difference in read/write speed. Maybe I'm not using DSLR. But any case, Kinston comes with 5 years warranty, and I think it's "solid" enough to last, considering it's cheaper too. Kingston and Lexar are reliable brands.
