EOS 5 is my 1st and only SLR Film camera. Recently, I did a wedding shoot for my nephew by making use of EOS 5 with 540EZ together with the EOS20D & 580EX.

Guess the results. EOS 5 with 540EZ turned out to be sharper compared to EOS20D & 580EX combination. Both set having the same aperture setting of F8 and 1/60 for most of the shots.

Anybody done some comparison between film and digital with the same settings? What are you observations? It seems to me that in order to attain the same sharpness like film, Digital needs to increase at least one F stop. I'm still exploring and trying to understand the 20D in order to achieve the results that I used to get on my EOS 5. Thanks.

I'm using eos5 also. I think other factors also affect the final image being produce eg:
1) lenses use on eos5 and 20d
2) Lab you use to develop
3) post-process work done with your 20D image.

have played with both EOS5 and 20D. the pics from the EOS 5 does seem more contrasty. maybe it's the prints vs onscreen viewing

I own the EOS 5 and EOS 20D, and I have a PDF version of the EOS 5 manual which I bought off Ebay UK one year ago. I'm willing to share it with you guys free of charge.

Those interested, send me a private message. Will see how we can help one another.
