This is one Kingfisher that is not so easily approachable and rarely can one find them perching on such a nice branch.
Taken with D2h, ISO 800, 600mm + 1.7TC with vehicle as hide. ![]() |

Good capture...
Just wondering and I do not mean any offence when I say this, but was this image cropped? |

Nice crisp details, good catch!
The background is a bit too smooth for me though. Perhaps, a bit of OOF details showing the bird's environment would add to the aesthetics (just my humble thoughts). Last edited by Marc; 8th April 2005 at 01:26 PM. |

Thanks all for the kind compliments. Glad you all like it.
Agape : Its ok mate. Only cropped away 10%. Marc : well i cannot help it leh. the 600mm F4 gives such smooth creamy background. Sree : don't hide leh...your shot on the D2X with 2X crop factor should be good too ! |

It is quite a skittish bird though. you need a proper hide in order to get close. Plus lots of patience and time. this is the same bird found at Marina Park |

BG got 2 always hang around the pond behind the performance stage. Not on hotter days though.
