Default Wedding

With kind permission from the couple. Many thanks, D and PC

This was a wedding covered in Jan 2005 but remains one of my favourites because of the lovely couple and the beautiful kua. The bride has an infectious bubbly personality while the husband is quiet and unassuming (yet plays a mean set of drums!)

The transformation begins

I particularly liked the shot with the flowers.
Was it a 50mm prime?

IMHO, too saturated. unnatural red in most of the shots. possible to use faster f-stop? can go in abit further with 'the bride at the window' #.

Splutter, DaNi3L: Thanks! glad you like the pics Don't normally post wedding shots as would prefer to get permission from the couples. The picture with the flowers is taken with the kit lens The 50mm f1.8 is not wide enough for most of the shots.

blaine: with regards to the colours, my wife did have a couple of comments as well - she acts as a counterbalance when I go overboard on some things, although I don't always listen to her The colours are deliberately done that way - I shall have to plea "artistic license".
The actual red is not too far off actually, when I think back, the red I remember is this red.

Concerning the bride at the window, any closer, I would probably lose the reflection. If I lose the reflection, the pose and angle will feel funny.

Yong Qin: thanks That one did turn out better than expected. It's probably the lens: 50mm prime.

kennyleong: I must be one of the few D70 users not using the SB800. I'm using the Sigma EF 500 Super DG. The shots shown here were taken using TTL BL mode although I switch between TTL and TTL BL modes depending on the situation.

Hi yanyewkay, nope, no custom curves used. However I have been using custom curves on subsequent weddings - saves a fair bit of time. Hope it helps.
