Wonderful shot - glad to see that the concept behind this still lives. I think this was first seen in the late 40's - the basic concept of using a water drop let as a lens. Very good work. My hat's off to you sir !

Thanks for viewing and the complements, I will try post some of my old works here, all are done on transparencies, some is almost ten years ago, I have not been shooting studio still life for long time, thinking making a comeback, but not for profit, just for fun, if time permit.

To reply some questions and share some background of the pictures,

#1 is a self-assignment with a very old concept. This is actually a macro set up, done on RB67, almost 1:1, the water droplets was position carefully one at a time. I use a studio stand instead of tripod because I need rooms to place the light. So no tripod used in shoot.

#2 is a paid assignment, for a timber company in India (if I still remember correctly) the subjects a section of a steel belt saw, each piece about 4 feet long. The lighting set up is very simple, one top light with softbox.

Hope you guys will try some experiments on still life also.
