Do you think this was worth it today? Standing in the drizzle and high humidity just to be treated like crap by organizers who couldn't figure out how to get 250 people into a tent. For a 15 minute Fashion Show of Salvation Army leftovers.

it's definitely not a nice experience today and i probably won't go tom. Last week Tangs Wardrobe Show was good though, great show and hassle free entrance (but I entered from the guest side
). |

Great!...I had to shoot from the side...not that great.....
Anyway...it was indeed a bad experience today at tent....I am sure lots of photogs who turn up can vouch for that......maybe we should start a thread to rate and comment on future shows.... ![]() |

Venom81, thanks.
Luval, there's really a big crowd of photographers on Saturday. felt that some of them could have behaved better before entering the tent though. Several of them were shooting the people in the queue with their big lenses, causing unnecessary discomfort. |

I agree. The behavior of this pack of photogs contributed to the clampdown at the Lingerie Awards show.
Was it necessary for local photogs to show up with chairs, tripods, ladders, etc. for what was obviously an internationally orgainized event. That was asking for trouble. Not to mention assembling cameras with large lens while queuing. The 2-3 rude photogs (front of queue, G-STAR) who used their zooms lens to harrass off-duty models was disgusting. Have not seen worse behavior in years. A suggestion is to keep your gear in your bag until you enter an event. Act like a professional.

One story there is one stupid guy who tried to grab my chair which is inside the area, that is realli realli very stupid. Bring your own small plastic stool or what, difficult meh? So juz enjoy the show, shoot within limit and the rules or barriers put up, don't disturb others by laughing loud because of model clothes not worn properly. I am a lady and i find that extremely rude even I not model. If give respect to others, others will respect you. we are just there to give a good show, so just enjoy yourself. It is win win situation, even our photographer is from so-call clubsnap here. |

CS is a public forum which does not impose any limitations or criteria for membership. Therefore, there will surely be a group of photographers who sell themselves off as CS members, banking on the reputation of CS to bring themselves up. I was also at the SFF last night and there was this group of phtogs that were showing off their big lens and changed lens several times and took snapshots of the people in queue. I don't know if they are from CS but they certainly need lessons on social ettique

OK... maybe, it's because I am well past my youth. However, I am having trouble viewing this as fashion. This guy looks like he got caught in a Tsunami
.![]() Really, I am annoyed with myself that I wasted my time to go see and photograph this crap. Rubbish clothes.. (I won't call it fashion) and $150 models. IMHO, the best show this year was the Hangzhou Fashion Troupe in RC |

NEVER EVER shoot people in the public without permission. Not even if you are the official. I had a pass, was official, was dressed like one (with vest and lens casings on my belt) even then got scolded and threatened to wallop me if i do not delete the picture away. Even though my job WAS to shoot the "public" loitering around in the event grounds which was clearly demarcated. Learnt my lesson. If really there is a need, shoot and don't get caught. ![]() |

There should be some etiquette when it comes to photography...and wat behaviour was displayed yesterday is just the tip of the iceberg....
I find that previously photographers were highly respected especially in these events where the organizers like all the free publicity they can get....but nowadays photographers are increasingly being seen as 'pests' or 'a thorn in the flesh'....as seen from yesterday's shows ....the main 'ang mo' organizer was just using a stack of paper and whacking quite a number of the photographers and asking them to get out from the aisles.....thats not the kind of treatment you want to have from anybody....especially when it is done in front of about 200 guests..... Lets please try to be professional and respect others for others to respect us....at all times....when you mount a DSLR and a moderate lens...general public will see you as a professional...be it you are a amatuer or newbie.... When the organizers tell you not to shoot....dun shoot....just sit back and enjoy the show....just put your self in their shoes and dun do to others wat you dun like others to do to you.... Dress well....shoot well...try to be as professional as you can be.... You have already spent a few K to many K for you equipment.....why not spend just some time to think about making others repect you and your hobby ...after all opportunities to have the ideal picture taken is also as important as to be happy and to make others happy too.... Hehe... I think at the other end of the iceberg is that some of these guys are not really there for fashion photography or general photography... they are just hard up for some free babe pics....
Once I stood next to some of em and the comments they made are anything but flattering to the ladies modelling the clothes. So, I think you'd always have these kind of behaviour since the price of digital have gone down considerably. Putting instant pics into the hands of the user... without ever goin to the lab.... ![]() |

i was there today in the afternoon for two shows. before the later show, one ang mio made some announcement before letting a group of 'unofficial' photographers in first and were directed to two areas on either ends of the official media people pit which was positioned at the end of the catwalk. i thought this was cool. some kind knowledgement from the organisers.
