Agree. I'm actually eagerly waiting for NK to fire first just for the US, SK or even UN will have a reason to overthrow him. Enough of his regime. Let the north become samsung land also.

I have a Korean friend who is the member of a big religious group in South Korea. He told me that his group has readied hospitals, even universities both on the South Korean as well as Chinese border. The group has poured many millions of dollars into getting ready so that when the time comes and Kim falls, they will rush in, and fill the gaps. Their ultimate goal is to convert the entire nation to their religion. He sounded very serious about the entire endeavour. It is by the way supported apparently by one of the major South Korean chaebo.

I have long heard of such groups... and they scares me... the idea of replacing Control under Kim.... to Control under 'God'... fills me with unease...

Fatty's father Kim Jong Il even in his wildest rages - never threatened to nuke specific cities Austin, LA and New York in USA.

The histrionics are overdone. It is a mistake. It reveals that Fatty is merely a puppet. There are a few power centres in N Korea.

Fatty is not in control. The bad part is nobody knows who is in control. Could be a few flaking lunatics running N Korea.

This from dailymail-UK. Fatty depicted as Zhu Bajie. Where is 唐三藏?

If the WWII is started by Germany due to consequences of WWI. The division of a country into 2 by the allies could be the trigger point of WWIII. After all we are at a stage whereby there is a tilt of global power to China which the western world are trying to balance. There are disputes between China, Japan and SK over territories. There is a huge demand over natural resources. There is inflation and lack of jobs in most countries. Probably American wish secretly for the war to happen so that Samsung S4 and developments will be delayed. Apple can take huge advantage if the war drags for 2-3 years.

China and Russia do not have to openly declare support for DPRK. DPRK today has soldiers by the numbers. His allies can just supply them with weapons without sending troops to support.

Oh no, kim has promised a nuclear strike "today or tomorrow".
I suggest SAF mobilize to South Korea to protect SNSD. They account for half of global GDP.

North Korean rocket delivery system is lousy. Rocket may drop into the sea. Or go way off course from intended target.

Conventional weapons attack across DMZ more likely. 155mm howitzers can fire shells up to 40km. Seoul is 40 km from DMZ.

When North Korea roars, South Korea yawns

    food for thought:

China claims the territories of the Tibetans because the Yuan Dynasty had physical dominion over those lands (no other dynasty, other than perhaps the Qing, another non-Han invader dynasty, had definitive physical claims over those lands), yet it does not make the same claims over Mongolia or, and more relevant to this thread, the whole of the Korean peninsular... of course, the Yuan Dynasty is Mongolian in origin, so maybe Mongolia should make a claim over all those lands...

the only way for China to be rid of US troops on the Korean Peninsular would actually inversely be by removing NK gov and letting the two sides merge... removing the threat of NK would remove the American excuse to base US troops there, and the SK people, who aren't all that enamored with having US troops on their lands anyway, would ask for their removal...

a united Korea could actually swing towards the China sphere, as they have massive economic cooperation between the two sides, and both have territorial disputes as well as historic differences with Japan, the main US ally in North East Asia...

North can be liberated but it will never be united with the South. Societies with too vast a difference in culture, economy and ideology.

It may continue on as a democratic, independent and sovereign nation state.

Yup. Look at what happened with east Germany. The former west was drained economically trying to rebuild and upgrade the east. It will be worse with nokor.

PRC gave an unprecedented stern warning to North Korea.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi statement:

We oppose provocative words and actions from any party in the region and do not allow trouble making on China's doorstep

no worry. now is good time to go long on risk assets. because China will prevent war and i think it will be at all costs even to invading DPRK and overthrowing the regime themselves .

if DPRK nuke Samsung-land , very bad for Chinese business
