Hiee Pals....
Remember the lotion bottle test i tried indoor for the Sigma 70-200+1.4x+2.0x stacked? Well......i decided to try it out on real distant scene... Here is what 200mm(1.5x crop = 300mm) would see (note: the above image was jus taken just now in the rainy day...just to show what a 200mm native without convertor would have been able to capture) And here is the final result with the two teleconvertors stacked... *I have cropped the Air-con from the image and as you can see, the fan grill spokes can be counted and you can even decipher the brand dai**n from the blue and black features......" My verdict: - Very good and sharp images still achievable. - Only good for stationary or near still subject for optimal use. - Shot at f8 (physical aperture choice) for sweet spot (NOTE: plus 3 stops light loss from the teleconvertors efffectively). - Very good results achievable if all fundamentals are taken cared of - tripod, timer/cable release/manual focus to specific point, use of magnifier (in my case i used the magnifier VN (2x) to help manual focus while pressing the DOF preview. I find that stopping down the aperture to f8 physically to manual focus gives brilliant repeatable....results The resultant setup is: 840mm field of view @ f7.84 largest Not too bad!! rgds, sulhan |
