Hiee Guyz....
Do you know that some of the KM lens which were once graded as "so-so+entry level+consumer" grade lens due to its low edge performance actually performed well in the D7D.....? Simply because the APS-C sensor only takes the centre area of the lens which is usually the area giving sharper performance.... Hmm...looks like now we should have another Battle of the Lens.....since now have D7D....previously the Battle of the Lens was done on the Dynax 7... What we could do is select some "presumed low quality lens" vs higher quality lens of the same range.....and shoot at the specific stops... Hows zat??? Forbytes!!!!!!! rgds, sulhan |

Great idea Sulhan, we can contribute our lenses for the tests.

now rushing my report, high key until end of augest. What sort of info required. Someone organise and I again supply logistics. Please provide new route. Or we all do it in a air-con studio, more control over exposure *learnt from my own mistake*.
I do agree with what sulhan suggested on the "not so ok lens" being "ok" on 7D due to the smaller image capturing device. If you look at MTF chart closely, you will realise that most lens perform relatively well from center point of focus to about 10-15mm from point of focus *if can maintain horizontal line is best*. It will be sufficient to cover APS-C sensor. The other issue outstanding would be colour reproduction and bokeh. Last edited by forbytes; 30th March 2005 at 02:36 AM. |
