Default Explain the difference b/w telephoto and close up lens?

What's the difference between a telephoto and a close up lens? Seems like both achieves a higher magnification? (Based on screen shots)

let me try..... they "magnify" using different ways. close-up lens reduce the focussing distance while a teleconverter increases the focal length.

let me give it a go..

with a teleconverter you can spy on your cute neighbour changing and see her undies.

with a closeup u can spy on a bee hovering over a flower and see its wing detail.
