The tea plantation along the way is quite nice place to shoot. At the Boh tea plantation you can even walk around and look for the best vantage point. Give yourself some time allowances and walk around.

Lodging I'd say Heritage Hotel in Tanah Rata. Middle of town, top of the hill, nice lobby, a walk's away from main town, jungle walks, mardi agricultural station, etc. In fact, a few of my aunts fell for the place bought part of the building too. If I'm not wrong it's around 5star (can be 4) but rents are from around RM100+, around the price of other out-out-the way hotels.
U can maybe add Gunung Brinchang, peak of Camerons for a freezing experience.

must try the Super fresh strawberry milkshake at Brinchang !

rode there last deepavali with some friends there to do some cornerings,Scenic shots are along the winding road with some minority tribes living there.
there is a nice tea plantation along the way up called Cameron Valley that serve nice teas and scones..
Very relaxing place but IMO, nothing much to shoot leh..go there switch off only..

    Hi yymun,

Before reaching CH, you will pass by some minority tribes along the way and they sell excellent durians and mangosteen! Very very cheap! Haha!

The way up Gunung Brinchang is scenic! The winding round up the mountain brings you around the BOH (and other?) tea plantation(s) and there are spots along the way where you can stop by to have take some shots - be careful of the steep drop though! make sure you climb up the communications (is it) tower when you reach the peak!

The jungle trails nearer to Tanah Rata should give plenty of opportunities too.

The bright skies when you reach the peak of Gn. Brinchang might pose a problem for metering, etc. (at least for a beginner like me!)... but bringing along some filters should solve the problem!

    Have a nice trip!

My lousy Gunung Brinchang snapshots. Drove up there with my cousins with a lot of wine and beers .
