Default Another Round of Insect Shots

Here are some more insect pics I took recently:

Equipment used: Fuji S602 + Close-up filter (+4) + Canon 250D (thanks to mega for borrowing) + Vivitar 285HV + Omni-bounce.

your shot is getting better & better. stress man. . Standard getting higher, mi need far more effort to catch up your level.

But i reckon his shots came out through his hard work, loads of practise and a good eye. So, envy not, and keep taking shots. Let his dedication inspire us. His level is something we can aspire to reach.

Yes it can. For digi cams, F8 can produce a DOF good enough for most insect macros.

Yes, keep practising. Its after taking countless shots before i had a better grasp of the techniques used in composing and focusing.

Nope, no cropping was done to them. Only resize and USM.

f/8 on consumer digicams are actually very small openings - the S602z lens is 7.6mm-48mm (as far as I can tell from DPReview picture ).

The effective aperture size at 48mm is 48/8 = 6; this is roughly equivalent to an f/11 aperture on a 105mm SLR lens.
