Default Newbie photos - advice needed.

A newbie here with a Nikon D70 here.
Need all the all the advice I can get from the more experienced here so that I can improve.
So feel free to comment.

Pictures are taken hand-held with the 18-70mm kit lens and the 70-300G lens.
Some processing done with PS.
Didn't realize there was some specks of dust in the pictures till I uploaded them to my PC.

1. Capitol Theatre at night.

2. City Hall pillar.

3. Roof of the Esplanade. I was actually facing the sun here.

4. Some flowers by the river.

5. Here's some more.

all I see are some blue squares with a question marks inside.
How did you do that?

I cannot see any dust that you mentioned earlier.

sorry, but what are the blue squares you're referring to?
and i don't know why some pics don't appear here.
anyway, the dust can be seen on some of the other photos found here

http://community.webshots.com/album/297044477LnpnVC

it is mostly found in the top right part of the pic, somewhere at the 2 o'clock position.
