Is this tripod able to work well with quite heavy equipment? Currently using a minolta x-700, 50mm f/1.7 lens.

Was wondering if it would be able to still be stable under that kind of pressure.

I have a Slik U8000 tripod. Its rated maximum load is 4.4 pounds, which is about 2 kg.

I would definitely not recommend putting anything heavier than that on this admittedly fragile tripod; even if the tripod structure itself does not get damaged from the overload, you will definitely lose stability (the tripod itself is only 1.5kg in weight) and thus defeat the purpose of using it in the first place.
